Tourist rentals are facing one of the biggest slowdowns since the boom in digital platforms. The president of the General Council of Associations of Property Administrators, Pablo Abascal, estimates that 40% of the new tourist apartments may not open or be affected in Spain. A change sponsored by the reform of the Horizontal Property Law. Its modification, in force since April 2025, completely alters the rules of the game: if before it was enough for the community not to expressly prohibit this activity, now just the opposite is happening.
