The Ibex points to a bullish weekly close with an eye on the US GDP and PCE

After the falls of the last session on this side of the Atlantic, and after Wall Street also ended with cuts (moderate), European and American futures point to a moderate rebound this Friday. The selective is moving towards a weekly close with a favorable balance, after rising 0.99% on Monday, 0.6% on Tuesday, 1.35% on Thursday and falling 0.99% this Thursday. Thus, waiting for what it does today, it accumulates increases of 1.95% in the last four sessions. At the weekly close, investors’ focus will be on two top-level macro references: the United States GDP for the fourth quarter and personal consumption expenditure (PCE) for December. In addition, manufacturing, services and composite PMIs will be released in both Europe and the United States, along with consumer confidence from the University of Michigan for February. Before that, the United Kingdom will publish its retail sales for January and Germany will publish its producer price index, also corresponding to January. In Asia, Japan has released January inflation, with the headline rate sitting at 1.5%, below the Bank of Japan’s 2% target for the first time in 45 months. Core inflation, for its part, has moderated its advance to 2%, from the previous 2.4%. The country has also published its PMIs. Manufacturing has improved to 52.8 from 51.5, beating forecasts; that of services has risen to 53.8 from 53.7, while the composite has stood at 53.80 compared to 53.10 previously.

FEARS ABOUT AI, IRAN AND THE US

The week concludes with several fronts open in the market. On the one hand, fears around artificial intelligence (AI), which have moderated as the sessions have passed, although they are still present and maintain some tension among investors. On the other hand, geopolitics and tension between the United States and Iran have clearly marked the evolution of oil, pushing the barrel of Brent above $70. The risk of a possible US attack on Iran remains on the table and focuses the attention of analysts. The Ibex will start today, Friday, from 18,017 points after losing 0.99% in the last session. For the next few days, BitcoinDynamic experts monitor a close above 18,271 points. «Exceeding these levels would leave the Spanish selective on a free rise, with a clear path so that we could end up seeing an extension of the increases to the level of 18,500 points.» Below, the first support level is at 17,581 points. «We will not see even the slightest sign of weakness as long as it remains trading above this price level. The euro is exchanged at 1.1753 dollars (-0.16%). Oil advances 0.7% (Brent barrel: $72.21; WTI barrel: $66.83). Gold adds 0.75% ($5,034) and silver, +1.28% ($78.63). The yield of the 10-year American bond falls to 4.071%. Bitcoin is trading at $67,728 and Ethereum is trading at $1,954.
