This vacation I decided to stay at home. I didn’t go anywhere. I did not travel. I dedicated myself to doing nothing. Let’s see time pass. To lose it, if it is meant. And among that not doing I dedicated myself to reading. Let’s watch movies. To walk. To look at the sky and the horizon, the trees. And not to listen to anyone. I dedicated myself to inhabit the shelter that is the village in which my parents live. Now, I can also understand that on the back of the everyday I had no event, no anecdote to tell. Neither photos nor videos to teach. Compared to others, I was a boring. They say. Even so, I do not regret my juicy vacations. If everything accompanies me, they will be an option for a long time. Of calm. Of calm. Isolation. Of disconnection. A word that is now always in the talk of everyone, including mine. Manuel Iglesias Nanín. O Carballiño (Ourense)
Criticize the judges
In a tribune in this newspaper, the professor Ana Carmona condemns criticism of judges or the judiciary. The argument fails at a point that she liquidates in a phrase: in the face of irregular actions, the system has adequate instruments to correct it. Here is the problem: provided that surveillance and correction falls to the group to monitor and correct, that mechanism does not work. It is the so -called corporatism. I am also tired that citizens are treated with condescension and tell us that judges cannot be criticized. I can criticize the deputies for a law, the government for a decision, but how does a judge work? Each citizen has their own education and baggage, but it is not difficult to deduce, from media information, which there are indications of crime in the case of Santos Cerdán. But, likewise, Begoña Gómez seems excessive after years of searching and that nothing appears. We will see if that mechanism referred to by Carmona ends up acting on said judge. Diego Valdés Carrera. They sell us
The great leaders of before were speakers, ideological or charismatic referents, but Trump is, above all, a seller. And today those who know how to sell themselves win. He became rich and then wanted to buy the world. Every time he meets Putin, Netanyahu or any other, what he is doing is selling them something; And the problem is that the rest is buying it. I begin to think that it sells us. And we are cheap. Matilde Soria Soto. Murcia
The good thing about reading
Every day I try to do things a little better: smoking less, do some exercise – although just going to walk – go to bed before, waste less time with my mobile. I do it to feel better, not to be better than anyone. This week’s debate, like so many others, has a basic semantic problem. No: Read does not make you «better person» than your neighbor. But it helps you improve in many other things. When you read exercises, you work your memory and expand your knowledge of the world. And best of all: you pour from spending the dead times seeing how your hall decorates the influencer on duty. The moral issue, if perhaps, we can leave it to the priests. Condela Rodiles. Madrid texts have to be sent exclusively to El País and should not have more than 200 words (1,250 characters without spaces). They must record name and surname, city, telephone and DNI or passport of their authors. The country reserves the right to publish, summarize or extract them.
