Koibanx, the pioneering fintech company in providing blockchain infrastructure in Latin America, proposes two webinars that will address personal finance issues linked to the crypto world and opportunities for more women to join this growing ecosystem at work.
The objective of these 2 meetings will be to open communication channels and generate new participatory spaces for women, especially in this month where gender inequalities are made visible and the gap is sought to be narrowed.
WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY
In the world there is a significant imbalance between women and men both during the university education stage and later in the occupation of professional positions related to technology. In Argentina, according to 2022 data provided by CIPPEC (Center for the Implementation of Public Policies for Equity and Growth), 6 out of 10 undergraduate students are women, but they represent only 25% of all undergraduate students. Engineering and Applied Sciences, and 15% of programming careers.
In addition, the glass ceiling stands out if it is observed that management positions in science and technology organizations are only held by 3 women out of 10 positions. The report “Diagnosis on the situation of women in science and technology 2023” of the Ministry of Science and Technology of La Nación also shows that although the majority of researchers are women, only 1 in 10 are dedicated to engineering and technology , in addition to accessing lower categories compared to men.
In this sense, Koibanx continues to work so that more women can have access to jobs within the technology area, which is why 15 women have recently joined the team, many of them to occupy leadership roles.
