Nifty Gateway launched a marketplace for art in digital form. The startup owned by Winklevoss works with several major brands and artists to regularly offer " nifties »Exclusive.
Acquired by Gemini – the company specializing in the cryptocurrency of the Winklevoss twins – in November 2019, Nifty Gateway has put online its marketplace dedicated to digital art Nifty Gateway 2.0 this Tuesday.
Nifty Gateway 2.0 is presented as a centralized exchange based on the US dollar and powered by Gemini Custody for the non-fungible tokens (NFT).
Gemini aims to democratize crypto-collectibles
According to Tommy Kimmelman, the commercial director of the start-up, platform users can buy and sell NFTs as simply as products on eBay.
Nifty Gateway plans to create collections of nifties in partnership with celebrities and major brands. The first NFTs of its kind are sculpture Gold Boombox by the Canadian artist Lyle Owerko or works by the space enthusiast and painter Michael Kagan.
