The Federal Police (PF) will receive an exclusive three-day training on cryptocurrencies and blockchain in Brasília. According to the company’s official statement, the workshop will last three days and will be open to all researchers from the agency.
Who will provide the training is Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, through its investigations department. In addition, invited government bodies will join PF investigators in training.
During the workshop, Binance will address topics such as blockchain and cryptocurrency concepts, Binance’s anti-money laundering (AML) policies.
In addition, investigators will learn about the processes and tools developed by the company to collaborate with authorities in the fight against cyber and financial crimes.
For security reasons, Binance has not confirmed which days were chosen for the training to take place.

The event will have the participation of two renowned speakers with international experience. In addition, Binance’s investigation specialist in Latin America, Brazilian Renato Barreto, will be present.
Joining Barreto will be Matt Price, Binance’s Head of Intelligence and Investigations in the Americas. Prior to joining Binance, Price was a Criminal Investigation Special Agent for the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The executive has experience in the cybercrime unit in Washington. That way, Price will likely do the part of the training aimed at fighting financial crimes.
The second presence at the event is Jarek Jabubcek, Binance’s Head of Intelligence and Investigations for the Asia-Pacific region. Jabubcek is a leading global expert in cybercrime, having served in the cryptocurrency division on the Europol Cybercrime Center (EC3) Dark Web team.
Finally, the event will feature Renato Barreto, Binance Investigations Specialist in Latin America.
Recently, Binance faced a series of controversies by blocking withdrawals of reais on its platform, something that, according to the company, occurred because of changes in the payment provider. Binance has announced a new provider, Latam Gateway, which will resume withdrawals soon.
