CoinMarketCap launched CoinMarketCap Earn, a platform that will pay users to learn more about cryptocurrencies. The Band Protocol, Oracle of cross-chain data supported by Sequoia, will be the first asset presented on the platform.
Encouraging education is a growing trend. In June 2019, Coinbase launched Coinbase Earn, which paid cryptocurrency users to engage in educational content – and it was a huge success. CoinMarketCap is one of the most accessed crypto sites in the world, so your Earn platform should bring education to millions of people.
"Given that CoinMarketCap is probably the number one traffic site on the market, where all new entrants are going to check prices, it is very important that they lead this initiative for users and that is why we decided to join them," he said. Sovaris Srinawakoon, CEO and co-founder of Band Protocol.
"Education is the key to accelerating the use of crypto-assets and we are excited to be part of CoinMarketCap's efforts to help users learn more about its underlying technology," he added.
Each new CoinMarketCap Earn campaign will last eight days, and a CoinMarketCap account is a prerequisite for participating in Earn campaigns. Access the site here to be notified when the first campaign will be launched.
What is the Band Protocol?
The Band Protocol allows smart contract applications, as in the decentralized finance market (DeFi), to connect and use external data in the real world.
This is Earn's first campaign, which not only promotes crypto education, but gives users a chance to test their knowledge and receive small amounts of cryptocurrency in return.
As part of the CoinMarketCap Earn launch, Srinawakoon held a live AMA with the CoinMarketCap team via YouTube.
