The digital currency is no longer a legal tender, but it is celebrated that the Bitcoin law is still in force. The celebration includes the opening of the Bitcoin zone in the National Library of El Salvador. El Salvador was the first country in the world to grant Bitcoin’s legal course. Following the guidelines drawn by President Nayib Bukele, on September 7, 2021, the so -called Bitcoin Law entered into force. Today four years of this fact are turned and that is why the Government dedicates this day to the creation of Satoshi Nakamoto, with a series of activities that are framed in what has been called «Bitcoin Day.» This, even when things have changed, because the digital currency lost its rank as an official currency Last May after signing an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Bitcoin National Office announced the celebration and activities include the inauguration of A bitcoin zone in the National Library of El Salvador (Binaes).

The idea is to offer international guests and citizens (mainly the country’s bitcoiners) a time to remember the historical milestone that represented the approval of the law, at the time of providing a «symbolic and practical» space to learn about Bitcoin’s role in the economic strategy of the nation. «The new Bitcoin zone is a space dedicated within the modern library of the country to offer resources, information and participation around Bitcoin,» explains the Bitcoin office. It is an educational space that was announced last February, where not only the books and materials on the history and news of the digital currency will be found, but also runs a complete node of the network. At night, the festivities will continue with a party at the La Dalia de San Salvador club, with live music and community activities. They add that this initiative reflects The continuous work of El Salvador for promoting innovation and consolidate your position as the first country in the world to adopt Bitcoin. They insist thus pointing out that the Bitcoiner strategy of Nayib Bukele is still standing, despite the changes made to the law at the beginning of this year. As Cryptonoticias reported, on January 29, the Salvadoran Legislative Assembly approved a sheet of reforms to BTC legislation, complying with clauses of the agreement with the IMF for a loan of USD 1.4 billion. In this way, the reform to the Bitcoin Law included rules to reduce the role of the State in the direct use of BTC, delegating adoption to particular interests. The reforms entered into force in the middle of the year and have been an important change in the feeling of many bitcoiners who saw El Salvador – and the Bukele government – as a basis of the ecosystem and a model to follow worldwide. Given this, the Government, and particularly the Bitcoin National Office, strives to show that the bitcoiner strategy Keep in progress and that the Central American country has not lost its status in the ecosystem. And precisely this celebration of September 7, on the fourth anniversary of the Bitcoin Law, is part of those efforts.
