The Bitcoin Apacheta Lab space includes thousands of books and allows you to view live transactions. La Paz leads with more than 37 businesses that accept bitcoin, more than in other Bolivian cities. In the heart of La Paz, the Bitcoin Research community inaugurated the Bitcoin Apacheta Lab, a physical center designed to transform technical curiosity into everyday financial tools. The space operates within a technological institute that houses a 5,000-volume library, integrating classical education with currency technology created by Satoshi Nakamoto. “We are going to have a physical place where people go to go learn bitcoin in person«, explained Achachila, representative of the organization, in the podcast «Separating the Money from the State», hosted by Iván Gómez for BitcoinDynamic. The episode will be available next week on our YouTube channel. According to Achachila, tangibility is key to promoting an adoption that often encounters obstacles. «Many ask: ‘but [bitcoin] It’s digital, how do I do it?’ Here we show them live and direct, which generates much greater confidence for adoption,” he added.

They draw attention to bitcoin
Ingenuity has played a key role in this expansion. At local fairs, the bitcoiner community has even used replicas of dollars to capture the attention of passersby concerned about the economy and present bitcoin as a technical escape routeas they commented on the podcast. Inspired by successful models such as “La Cripta” in Argentina or the Bitcoin Farmer Market in El Salvador, the Bolivian community also plans to launch a circular economy mobile market. Their strategies are ambitious since they promoted the first hotel that accepts the pioneering digital currency in Santa Cruz. Likewise, they are considering how to introduce payments with BTC at the traditional Las Alasitas miniatures fair. This festival, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, celebrates every January 24 abundance through the purchase of miniatures blessed that represent the desires for prosperity of the people of La Paz. For Bitcoin Reasearch, getting the crypto asset accepted in honor of Ekeko – the god of fortune – would represent a symbolic milestone. It would reflect the union of an ancient faith in wealth with the financial tools of the 21st century, integrating bitcoin into the traditional rite of asking for economic well-being. “The strategy is to occupy as much land as possible,” says Achachila. For the community, there is no small space. For this reason, they have also participated in robotics events and Rubik’s cube championships to integrate BTC into popular culture. Its ultimate goal is for the user to understand the theory, and also to receive their first satoshis in a personally configured wallet.
