Airtificial announced this Monday that its division Airtificial Intelligent Robots has signed with two renowned US and Chinese manufacturers two contracts for a joint value of almost 3 million eurosfor the design and manufacture of two advanced industrial automation lines for the manufacture of large electric and hybrid vehicles. This has been detailed in a note sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), in which it explains that the projects will be installed in the plants of two final vehicle manufacturers in Germany and Mexico. Regarding the project awarded by the American manufacturer, Airtificial indicates that it consists of the design and manufacture of an automated projection welding line for joining metal components. «This state-of-the-art assembly line reduces assembly times for structural components for freight trucks and commercial buses for passenger transport from a well-known European end manufacturer.» Airtificial also details that the line incorporates a own integration software which «optimizes data processing and decision making in real time, improving cycle times, process robustness and quality standards, ensuring 0% defects.» The line will be installed in Germany and has been designed to work with a single operator in a cycle time of 30 seconds. It will occupy an area of 55 square meters, integrating four industrial robots, three specific projection welding systems, three magnetic clamps for gripping components, six 3D vision cameras, two automatic traceability readers and two special semi-solid paste dosing systems. This project has a manufacturing period of 27 weeks from the issuance of the purchase order and will be delivered 35 weeks later. As for the second line, awarded by a direct Chinese supplier, it consists of the modernization and increase in capacity of assembly lines from a final manufacturer in Mexico. «The solution will extend the life cycle of existing industrial facilities, aligned with circular economy criteria, and will support the manufacturing of electronic power steering systems,» explains the Spanish firm. This line will have six operators, a cycle time of 26 seconds and an area of 250 square meters. It will integrate automatic processes of pressing, greasing, clipping, inspection, screwing and plasma treatments. The manufacturing period will be 26 weeks, with delivery expected in 36 weeks from the purchase order. It should be noted that the clipping process is a mechanical assembly operation using clips or pressure, without screws or welding, while plasma treatments are surface conditioning processes that use ionized gas (plasma) to modify the surface of the material without altering its geometry.
Guillermo Fernández de PeñarandaCEO of Airtificial, highlighted that these projects «demonstrate that we are capable of leading both the implementation of new advanced automation lines and the transformation of existing industrial facilities, generating tangible improvements in efficiency and sustainability.» «That companies that supply directly to large global manufacturers choose us is a clear endorsement of our technology and our operational reliability,» added the manager.
