“I am looking for a furnished room or apartment to sublease from May 23 to June 20.” Notices like this proliferate in Telegram groups, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and platforms to find roommates. Illegal subletting – the rental of rooms without the consent of the owner of the house – has been growing in recent years in the shelter of the rental bubble.
