By comparison, its main competitor, USDC (issued by Circle), stands at a capitalization of $78.3 billion, less than half the size of USDT. This gap underlines Tether’s undisputed dominance. This rise in the supply of stablecoins is interpreted as a bullish signal for the market. According to the analyst who identifies himself as CryptoOnchain, from the CryptoQuant platform, “investors are accumulating dry powder, positioning their capital to deploy it in assets such as bitcoin (BTC) and altcoins.” However, not all of the increased supply necessarily translates into immediate purchases of cryptoassets. USDT is also widely used for paymentscross-border transfers and as a store of value, especially among new users entering the ecosystem. The analyst himself offers an optimistic view on the medium-term impact: “This unprecedented level of liquidity provides a solid fundamental basis for possible market growth and an increase in commercial activity.” Thanks to this depth, the ecosystem can absorb large buy or sell orders without generating extreme volatility. With this new high, USDT surpasses its previous record of $187.121 million recorded on December 30, 2025. Its role as an essential fuel of the current cycle is reinforced, ensuring that it remains the preferred instrument to move capital within the world of cryptocurrencies.
