A row of cars awaits at the gates of the exclusive private urbanization Monte Alina de Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid) while a security guard asks the drivers where they are heading before lifting the barrier that controls access to the luxury housing complex. Everyone responds the same because they go to the same house with a clear objective: to find treasures at Wallapop prices. They want to be the first to enter. It is the fashion plan in the capital, to go to a house that needs to be emptied after a move, a sale, a reform or an inheritance. «Everything that is seen is sold, even the curtains and the lamps,» says Ainhoa Larregui, director of the moral Home Market, one of the companies that are dedicated to organizing these markets. «We give a new life to belongings that were going to end at the clean point. Everyone wins, here there are chollazos,» says sitting on a sofa who has minutes left to be sold as well as the great table in the living room, the refrigerator with water dispenser, collector dispensing, cashmere sweaters or designer bags. Three years ago Larregui stopped organizing trips and turned his professional life after detecting that housing emptying was a business with a future. «There were many people who did not know what to do with the stored things and very few professionals who gave them an answer,» he says. His project is inspired by the American concept State Sales: Open doors in homes where the owner or his heirs sell much of what is inside. Buyers enter the house and travel all their stays, from the bathroom to the dressing room, as if it were a real home, but in a real home. Vajilla for sale in the emptying of a house in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid), on September 10.Santi Burgoscada Mercadillo lasts three days, from Friday to Sunday, and shifts of an hour and a half are usually established before the high demand. «The tickets are free, they are exhausted within a few minutes of throwing them. We expect 3,000 people this weekend,» says Larregui. On the same dates, at least two other entities also organize their rake: Architecture of the order in Chamberí and Alma Market in Mirasierra. Families, young couples and ladies travel the rooms with Brío. Julia Jiménez, 21, walks with her boyfriend through the living room. «We saw the plan on Tiktok and we have come to gossip,» he confesses. Ornella Ioncoli, 28, fishes the garage furniture with the jacket that has just been purchased for 13 euros in your hand. «It’s fun, I like to imagine how people who lived here would,» he says. «Coming to a luxury urbanization is already an experience,» says Xingi Ying, 32. Meanwhile, his friend David Niu, 33, is coming to ask if the house can be purchased because he is dedicated to the real estate sector of luxury houses, although this is not the goal of the market. «They tell me that it has already been sold for two million euros. Demand in Spain is very high, many foreigners want to come here to live,» he says. The owners are a marriage to whom, since their children became independent, a home with almost 400 square meters, three plants, pool and garden were very large.

Meanwhile, in the district of Chamberí a woman buys a wedding dress from the 50s to give it to her daughter to marry. There, María José López and Astrid Romero, members of the company Architecture of the Order, organize another market. These entrepreneurs say that emotional management is an essential part of their work, their customers deal every day with attachment. «They come encouraged to open the doors of their houses, but when they are going to give off from their things they have a bad time, they are part of their life. Therefore, we recommend that they are not present during the markets of the market,» says López. Order architecture dedicates a space in its social networks to the new life of the belongings bought in the rakes. «The former owners see them in other homes and get excited, they understand that they are better there than at the clean point. It is a green initiative,» says Romero. They were the pioneers of this trend in Spain. They started in March 2018, when a friend asked them to organize a clothing market because her father had died and her widow was going to move to a smaller floor that could not take all her things. Unlike the moral Home Market, they not only focus on luxury houses. «We work with special homes we connect. It is very attractive He was gossiping and went out with a minipimer because he had broken his the day before, ”says Romero’s laugh.“ This is an experience, such as going to spend the weekend to Segovia. Groups of friends come before for breakfast and then to take the vermouth, ”says López leaning on an ónix table, a variety of quartz, valued at 3,000 euros in the market, but in his mercadillo it costs 1,000. The plan is intergenerational.“ In a house people live with different tastes and ages. Therefore, our clients are from toys to jewelry and books, ”he continues. Meanwhile, the bargueño, the dresser of marquetry and the collection of elephants steal the attention of the buyers.“ I liked to go to the trail of Madrid, but now I opt for plans like this with less overwhelm of people, ”says Isabel, 70, who prefers not to reveal his last name. «We feel that our project is a tribute to honor the memory of all the objects that people have treasured throughout their lives, some have passed through the hands of cabinetmakers and gilders, trades that are being lost.»
